I was lucky enough to skate some of the incredible first generation of skateparks in the late Seventies and early Eighties. We used to drive to California (and stop at the Desert Pipes) as crazy skate rats on a mission from the skate gods. We skated the original Upland Pipeline, Del Mar, Marina Del Rey, Pomona Pipe & Pool, Reseda, Colton & more. I shot everything on film back then, quite a challenge.
I am SO also blessed to be skateboarding 50 years later, still enjoying the new generation of skateboard parks. Some of my favorite skateboard parks now are: Lake Cunningham CA, Pier Park, Portland OR, Lincoln City OR, Orcas Island WA, Goodyear AZ, Santa Rita, Tucson AZ, Kent 360 WA, Arvada, CO, West Linn OR, and my local park Lower Woodland in Seattle, WA.
Here are some of my favorite skatepark shots from over the years.
